The most famous by far of all twentieth-century political allegories, Animal Farm is the account of a group of barnyard animals who revolt against their vicious human master, only to submit to a tyranny erected by their own kind, can fairly be said to have become a universal drama.
In Animal Farm, a group of farm animals rise against their human lord, only then to slowly become it.
It's a book about totalitarianism, a great one at that. The characters are simple and function more as a vector and a role in the narrative than for their personality.
As I'm reading some older books, this one is a simple read, as it is a book of the 20th century. It reads like a fable, and it reinforces the tonal sense and the 'I will learn something from this' vibe from fables.
I recommend for anyone, almost at any time. It resonates when you feel underpowered and warns otherwise.
